After the disappointing attempt to buy the green eye rasbora online, I went to my favorite LFS (www.albanyaquarium.com) and found that they had the same dwarf green eye rasbora (rasbora dorsiocellata macrophthalma) in stock, so I happily bought 15 of them. They are nice and small, supposedly not growing more than 1.5" long. They're currently under an inch long and school together very tightly, which is what I was looking for. The harlequin rasbora in my tank do not school together as tightly. The green eye rasbora have plain colored bodies, but they have a nice black spot on their dorsal fin, and they have gorgeous electric green/blue eyes, which complement the plants very nicely. The pictures of them that you see on the web do not do them any justice.

I dosed about 1.0 ppm of the new iron chelate solution, and it seems that the stargrass is already turning much greener. We'll see over the next couple days. The iron chelate solution is a very dark brown and it's hard to tell currently, but it seems to tint the water slightly yellow. I'm not sure, so I'll keep an eye on that as well over the next few days. I tried to run the Red Sea iron test, and as usual I could not get a reading on it. It didn't really match any colors on the chart. The closest colors were either the 0 light blue reading or the 0.2 gray reading.
