Increased CO2, less algae?

  • pH: 6.8 morning, 6.9 evening
  • Temp:
  • KH:
  • GH:
  • NH4:
  • NO2:
  • NO3: 10
  • PO4: 0.2-0.5 (before dose)
  • Iron:
  • Dosing: 0 mL Flourish, 15 mL iron chelate (1.5 ppm), 20 mL KH2PO4 (0.6 ppm)

Notes:
The pH is back down to 6.8. With a KH of 5, the CO2 levels are back up to 24 ppm (up from 15 ppm the previous day). The phosphate levels have also dropped significantly, as opposed to the previous days. This is probably because of the increase in CO2. Over the past several days, the amount of algae (fuzz/beard algae, green spot algae) has increased, again probably due to the lower CO2 levels and the recent pruning, which removed a lot of plant matter. Hopefully, over the next couple days, the algae will recede.
